"For the first time in my life, I know my calling. I’m grateful that God is working through me as a part of Elevation Church!"

A few years ago, one of my closest friends from church told me about a book called Crash The Chatterbox, written by a dynamic, young pastor from North Carolina. I didn’t read the book; but I never forgot about it, either.

About a year later, I hit a particularly rough patch. My prayer life and fellowship that once encouraged me began to feel stale. I wanted to be closer to God.

Then one day, I remembered the young North Carolina pastor's name and found his messages on YouTube. I found myself watching them again and again. It seemed I'd found what I had been searching for.

Not long after that, my fiancée, Deanna began to go through a discouraging season of her own. One Sunday morning, I decided to play one of Pastor Steven’s messages for her. While watching, she looked up at me and asked, "How far away is Charlotte?"

We couldn’t have expected to feel the way we did, arriving at Elevation for the first time. It was like coming home. We immediately knew we were exactly where God wanted us.

Despite living six hours away, we continue to make our way to Elevation every Saturday. I’m convinced that these trips have drawn us closer to God and closer together. We’ve started serving on a team and have made some beautiful new friendships. God has even provided an opportunity to lead a team.

For the first time in my life, I know my calling. I’m grateful that God is working through me as a part of Elevation Church!
